Northbridge Secure Systems and Samsung Electronics Australia team up to make future ways of working a reality today
Northbridge Secure Systems, in partnership with Samsung Electronics Australia, today announced the release of NetConnect on the Samsung DeX™, paving the way for a full High-Definition secure remote desktop access experience for users without the need for a desktop or notebook computer. With NetConnect users are able to access their virtual or physical Microsoft Windows environment, published Applications and much more, all via a Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ or Note8 device.
Samsung DeX provides an Android-based desktop-like experience allowing users to access apps, edit documents, browse the web, and more, with ease, directly from a compatible smartphone on a larger display, with keyboard and mouse connectivity. With NetConnect, this capability is further enriched with secure remote access to corporate resources, allowing users to access and work with Samsung DeX from any location on their physical or virtual desktop environment with the same level of security and user-experience as if they were using a laptop or computer.
Michael Harte, Chief Executive Officer, Northbridge Secure Systems said: “Samsung DeX is what we have been waiting for. Samsung DeX combined with NetConnect provides the user with a true desktop replacement solution. In addition, it allows anyone to carry their office in their pocket. We are very excited about what this will enable our partners to offer to their customers.”
To start using the NetConnect app, users simply insert their compatible Samsung smartphone, Galaxy S8/S8+ or Note8 into the Samsung DeX Station, which connects the smartphone to an HDMI compatible monitor, and connect to any Bluetooth-enabled, USB or RF-type keyboard and mouse.*
Michael Bounader, Business Development Manager, Northbridge Secure Systems said: “Our strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics Australia really brings the missing pieces of a true mobility solution together.”
“We believe this is the future of end user computing and our flagship product NetConnect and Samsung DeX are a perfect match in making this a reality today. Both our team and the team at Samsung have been amazing in bringing this solution together in such a timely manner. We are really proud and excited to present this to market.”
Martin Brown, Head of Alliances and Partner Solutions, Samsung Electronics Australia said, “Samsung DeX has been designed with the highly mobile worker in-mind, providing a convenient and flexible desktop experience directly from a compatible Samsung smartphone.
